Our Children

We love children at First Southern! It is our greatest joy and privilege to help your children learn more about God and lead them into a joyful relationship with Him. We recognize that the most important part of your children's spiritual growth is YOU. That is why we have programs and classes which seek to not only teach about God, but enable you, as parents, to be effective in leading them in their spiritual lives as well. Checkout our current programs for your children to get involved in.
 
Sunday School: 9:45 am Sunday Mornings
A class for every age. Sunday School makes Bible learning fun. There are stories, fun activities, snacks and games while learning the Bible.
 
TeamKid: Grades 1-6, Wednesday nights at 6:30.
It is an action-packed time of recreation, Bible teaching, music, snack time, and more.
 
Bibledrill: Grades 1-6.
It is an optional program that also meets on Wednesday nights at 6:30. The major emphasis is on memorizing the Bible. Kids memorize verses, key passages, the books of the Bible, and more. It is accomplished through games and activities and lessons. The 4-6 graders can travel to a statewide competition in Salina in the spring and test their skills.    
 
Jr. Church- Grades 1-5.
This goes from 10:55 am on Sundays till around noon. It is a worship service especially for kids. There is music the kids love, videos, awards,  puppets, and more.

VBS
This is a weeklong summer program that is a blast for everyone. There is always a fun theme and each day there is worship for kids, Bible lessons, crafts, recreation, learning about far away places, and fun food.

Summer Camp: Weir Baptist Camp.
The kids have an awesome week  away from the routine. It is a time to totally focus on God. There is swimming, recreation, crafts, worship, and all kinds of fun.
